Twice Inspired

The works of Johann Sebastian Bach elicit the very meaning of liturgical music and beauty. In this century the music of John Rutter is heard in concert halls and cathedrals throughout the Western world. His anthem was commissioned for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011.

CAS will present Bach’s inspirational Magnificat, about to celebrate its 280th anniversary, and Rutter’s stunning and pastoral Requiem, which will celebrate its 28th Anniversary. Both works will be accompanied by chamber orchestra and feature vocal soloists Doug Clemons, Nancy Davis, Michael Mueller, Brianne Sura and Erin Sura. Support for this program comes from the Racine Arts Council and the Racine Community Foundation.
